BIO

Dr. Eng. Sampath Deegalla is a computer engineering graduate with over 20 years of experience in research, teaching, and administration. He holds a B.Sc. Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, as well as a Ph.Lic in Computer and Systems Sciences from Stockholm, Sweden. Currently serving as a senior lecturer, Eng. Sampath Deegalla, who is passionate about educating both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr. Eng. Sampath Deegalla is an expert in Machine Learning , Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence having authored over 30 scholarly publications at the national and international levels. He is a resource person for Dialog Data Academy, which provides data analytics training to the industry. He conducts postgraduate courses for M.Sc. Programmes in Data Science, Information Technology and Industrial Mathematics at the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya.

Dr. Eng. Sampath Deegalla is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE), USA and an associate member of the Institute of Engineers (AMIESL), Sri Lanka. He has demonstrated his commitment to staying current in his field through his participation in various professional organizations and his dedication to ongoing education.
